AG's Foreword

The Office of the Auditor General of the Federal Republic of Somalia (OAGS) has a mandate to audit federal public institutions, ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs), in accordance with the Federal Audit Law (no.14). We provide independent and objective analyses of the government's performance in managing and ensuring accountability of public finances, fostering improved public sector service delivery. Guided by the needs of the Somali people, we strive to champion transparency and accountability through high-quality audit work. Our goal is to submit reports to the Somali Parliament, executives, stakeholders and citizens regarding the utilization of public resources and provide recommendations to audited entities for improvement. As we navigate the complex landscape of Public Financial Management (PFM) in Somalia, I invite you to explore our website, where you'll find comprehensive information and resources on our audits, office performance, strategic targets, and more. Together, we can pave the way to a more accountable and transparent public sector in Somalia.
