The Auditor General of the Republic of Somalia, H.E. Ahmed Issa Gutale, joined press representatives in a welcoming ceremony in Mogadishu to congratulate him on his appointment.
In a brief statement, Auditor General Gutale shared a brief overview of the office’s history alongside its mandate to audit all public entities for the use of public funds and resources, its mission to strengthen partnerships and collaborations with all stakeholders continuously, and its significant role in promoting accountability, good governance, and citizen-cantered public financial management.
The Auditor General also emphasized the importance of close cooperation between the Office of the Auditor General and the Somali Press Community.
Ministers, parliamentarians, local and international press figures, and representatives from various sectors of society attended the event and expressed their praise and support for the newly appointed AG.
