Mogadishu, Somalia, October 13-15, 2025: The Auditor General of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Ahmed Issa Gutale, has officially concluded a comprehensive three-day training program designed to strengthen the skills, professionalism, and compliance oversight capacity of the staff of the Office of the Auditor General of Somalia (OAGS).

The training, which brought together nearly 30 compliance auditors, focused on advancing participants’ understanding of modern audit practices, legal compliance, and effective oversight mechanisms within government institutions. The initiative forms part of OAGS’s ongoing commitment to promote transparency and accountability across the public sector.

In his closing remarks, Auditor General Gutale congratulated the participants for their dedication and urged them to apply their newly gained knowledge to protect public resources and legal compliance across all government institutions.

“Our role as auditors goes beyond checking figures — it is about safeguarding the nation’s wealth and ensuring that every institution serves the people with integrity and accountability” said Gutale. “Through continuous learning and professionalism, we can build a more transparent and responsible Somalia” he added.

During the sessions, trainers and participants exchanged insights and best practices from previous compliance audits. These discussions helped enhance practical knowledge and equipped the team with modern techniques to strengthen the quality and impact of their upcoming audit plans.

OAGS reveals its firm commitment to investing in human capital by continuously building the technical and professional capacity of its staff. The institution continues to empower its workforce through targeted training in Financial, Compliance, Special, Forensic, and Information System Audits, aimed at improving audit excellence and promoting sustainable accountability systems in Somalia.
