Cairo, Egypt, October 22-23, 2025: Auditor General of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Ahmed Isse Gutale, participated in the Third Arab Regional Forum on Enhancing Transparency and Combating Corruption in the Digital Age in Cairo. The forum gathered senior officials, regional and international organizations, and experts in governance and anti-corruption.
The 3rd Arab Forum emphasized the role of digital transformation in enhancing transparency and integrity in public policies, while reviewing innovative experiences and exchanging best practices among Arab countries, regional institutions, and international organizations.
On his part, H.E. Gutale delivered a presentation titled “Beneficial Ownership Transparency -Digital Transformation and Cross–border Cooperation”, highlighting Somalia’s initiatives to strengthen beneficial ownership transparency through digital transformation and institutional collaboration. He emphasized the importance of these measures in promoting integrity, accountability, and public trust.
The Auditor General commended the support of ARADO, ESCWA, Transparency International, UNDP, and the World Bank in advancing transparency and good governance across the Arab region.
He concluded by emphasizing the importance of enhanced Arab and regional cooperation in digital governance and cross-border anti-corruption efforts, noting that Somalia is continuing to advance toward institutionalizing a culture of transparency and integrity through ongoing reforms.
The Third Arab Regional Forum serves as a platform for Arab countries to exchange expertise and develop innovative digital solutions to strengthen governance, accountability, and efficiency.
