The Auditor General of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Ahmed Isse Gutale, participated in the Founding Meeting of the African Organization of Arabic-speaking Supreme Audit Institutions (AFROSAI-A), held in Cairo, Egypt.
During the meeting, SAI Somalia was elected Alternate External Auditor of AFROSAI-A for the 2026–2029 term, while SAI Algeria was elected External Auditor. The election reflects the confidence of member institutions in SAI Somalia and its growing contribution to regional public sector auditing cooperation.
In his remarks, the Auditor General thanked AFROSAI-A and its nine member countries for their confidence in SAI Somalia. He emphasized the importance of developing AFROSAI-A into a results-oriented platform that strengthens professional cooperation, knowledge exchange, institutional capacity, and joint audit initiatives among member SAIs.
The meeting also recognized SAI Somalia’s contribution to the establishment of AFROSAI-A, including its participation in the preparation and refinement of the Organization’s founding documents.
SAI Somalia’s election further strengthens its role within regional professional networks and demonstrates its continued commitment to advancing public sector auditing, institutional development, and accountability.
