Office of the Auditor General Conducts Intensive Internal Audit Training to Strengthen Institutional Performance

Mogadishu, December 14-18, 2025: The Office of the Auditor General of the Federal Republic of Somalia (OAGS) has successfully concluded a five-day intensive training program for its Internal Audit Department staff, reaffirming its strong commitment to institutional excellence and professional development.

The training was conducted in line with the implementation of the Office’s Strategic Plan 2023–2027, particularly Goal Four, which focuses on enhancing the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies of its personnel. The program was specifically designed to strengthen the technical capacity and operational performance of internal audit staff, ensuring higher standards of efficiency, accountability, and quality within the Office’s internal systems.

Throughout the five-day session, participants engaged in practical and technical modules to improve internal audit methodologies, reinforce compliance mechanisms, and enhance the effectiveness of internal control frameworks. The program also emphasized the importance of maintaining transparency, strengthening internal accountability structures, and ensuring that audit functions within the Office align with best professional practices.

This initiative reflects the Office’s continuous efforts to invest in its human capital and build a highly skilled workforce capable of effectively supporting its constitutional mandate.
