The meeting brought together the Customs Manager of the Mogadishu Port, the Deputy Director General of Mogadishu Port, and representatives of Mogadishu Alport Corporation (Albayrak-Somalia).
Discussions focused on progress in implementing recommendations arising from previous audits conducted by SAI Somalia, particularly those concerning port operations, revenue management, and compliance with the provisions of the revenue-sharing agreement between the Federal Government of Somalia and Mogadishu Alport Corporation. The discussions examined revenue collection and management procedures, the requirement to deposit government revenue into the Treasury Single Account (TSA), and compliance with provisions prohibiting the deposit or retention of public revenue in bank accounts outside the TSA.
The Auditor General emphasized the importance of implementing outstanding audit recommendations, fulfilling obligations under the revenue-sharing agreement, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. He underscored the need for sound financial management practices, effective internal controls, and transparent administration of public revenue and assets.
